Your role in our journey
As a Senior Legal Officer you’ll provide a comprehensive, specialist legal service. This is a richly varied and rewarding role, with responsibilities ranging from research, analysis and project work, through to drafting detailed and complex documentation. The Council has a significant capital programme and so any construction contract experience would be an advantage. Crucially, you will provide both professional advice and challenge to Council services, including guidance on legal developments and work to ensure compliance with our policies and codes of practice. Along the way, you’ll continue to train and develop professionally.
What you’ll need
To join us, you’ll need to be a qualified barrister / solicitor / legal executive, with relevant specialist training. You will bring to the role experience in providing a legal service. Your track record includes problem solving, advising senior managers, undertaking research and keeping abreast of legislative changes. As impressive as your legal expertise undoubtedly is, what really sets you apart is your flair for liaising, negotiating, influencing and collaborating with people at all levels, across departmental and organisational boundaries.
