West Berkshire Council’s Housing Service has undergone a significant amount of change with an ambitious Service Improvement Programme coupled with investment designed to make it an excellent housing service and leading housing authority in the region.
We are now looking for a Development and Enabling Officer to take a lead in delivering one of its key strategic Housing priorities. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the delivery of affordable homes, responding to planning consultations and liaising with developers with the aim of maximising the amount of affordable homes brought forward in the district.
We are looking for a motivated, organised and flexible individual to join our team and to work closely with internal colleagues, registered providers, developers and other stakeholders to negotiate and actively promote increasing the number of affordable homes.

This post benefits from a ‘Home’ workstyle which means that the post holder is able to work from home or remotely for the majority of their time. You may be required to work from the Council Offices in Newbury occasionally at your managers request with reasonable notice.
