About the role
As operational lead for Development Management you would have four team managers reporting to you and a responsibility for 16 specialist planners. You would play a key role in the service leadership team. You would be the Council’s lead officer at monthly Planning Committee meetings and have close contact with our councillors. The role sits within our Place & Growth directorate.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual able to manage performance effectively and maintain our exceptional record. You will have extensive knowledge of the legislative and policy framework and be a qualified town planner and member of the RTPI. You will be committed to the learning and development of our talented team of planners. You will have strong communication skills and a customer focused approach.
