An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified individual to join our team as a Specialist Sensory Support Practitioner with BSL skills.

The post holder will operate under the direction of the lead practitioner for the Hearing Needs Team as part of Sefton SEN and Inclusion Service to improve outcomes for deaf children and young people in Sefton, principally supporting children, their families and settings developing signing skills.

The successful candidate will work alongside the Qualified Teachers of the Deaf to provide high quality and effective support for children with Hearing Needs and be responsible for the development and delivery of BSL within Sefton. 

In the first instance, the post will be primarily based in supporting pupils in a local special school, providing targeted communication support to develop signing as a primary mode of communication.

The post holder must have at least BSL level 3 qualification and have a Teaching Assistant NQV III or equivalent and be willing to work flexibility to support the needs of our caseload.

This is a term time only post.
