Revenues Officer (Council Tax Team)
The Revenues and Benefits Shared Service for East Herts and Stevenage Council is responsible for the collection of council tax, business rates and the administration of housing benefit and council tax support. We are looking to recruit an individual with detailed knowledge and previous experience of Council Tax billing and recovery.
Working within the Council Tax Team and using Academy software system, you will have the opportunity to carry out all aspects of Council Tax work including registration, recovery, dealing with telephone enquiries and updating Council Tax records on a daily basis in accordance with regulations, local policies and procedures to achieve the best possible collection rates in an effective and efficient way.
You will have excellent communication skills, able to discuss debts in a polite and professional and sensitive way, but able to collect ‘hard to collect’ debts and achieve target and be willing when required to assist at court for both East Herts and Stevenage Councils.
