Make a difference: become an administrator playing a key role in supporting the Council and people of East Sussex. An opportunity has arisen to join the administration team within Adult Social Care in the Hastings and Rother Neighbourhood Support Team, Countywide Reviewing Team and Occupational Therapy & Sensory Service.

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player; willing to learn, and able to remain calm in a busy work environment. As a senior Administrative Support Officer, you will be supporting the teams above, particularly senior staff; supervising a group of Administrative Support Assistants to ensure the delivery of administrative services; minuting complex client meetings, as well as providing support in all aspects of general administration including recruitment and induction. You will be required to work independently using your own initiative and as part of a team.

You will have strong IT and MS Office skills, excellent minute taking skills and customer service experience.  You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with a wide range of people, which can sometimes involve sensitive issues. You will need the skills to liaise with colleagues, clients, professionals and other agencies using a variety of communication tools. Attention to detail and accuracy, flexibility, and the ability to use your own initiative is essential.

This is a varied and demanding role which offers excellent opportunities to expand your existing knowledge and skills by working with an experienced administration team and taking advantage of the training opportunities available within the Council and Adult Social Care.

We welcome applications from all sections of our community and for this post we particularly encourage applications from people of Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds, and men, who are currently under-represented within East Sussex social care.
