Early Help Worker - IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advisor)
Fixed term until 31 March 2023
We have a new Early Help Worker IDVA post within our IDVA service which offers crisis support to victims of domestic abuse. We are looking for someone with experience of working face to face with families and/or vulnerable adults and who has a good knowledge of domestic abuse. The successful candidate will either have an IDVA related qualification or be prepared to work towards this as part of their role. Excellent communication skills are essential to the role which requires regular contact with service users, colleagues, other Council departments and external agencies. This role involves active case management and so excellent time management skills and an ability to work to tight timescales is essential.
This is a fixed term post which is externally funded by the Ministry of Justice until 31 March 2023.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore you are required to declare any convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings that are not ‘protected’ (i.e. filtered out) as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2013.
