Salary: £43,600 to £46,301 per annum
Applications are invited for this post located within the Development Management Section of Planning Services.
The post provides an opportunity to contribute towards the continued development of the Council’s Planning function and to assist in the provision of an efficient and effective Development Management Service to customers and service users.
The post will provide opportunities to deal with complicated applications and projects and all tasks associated with the business of the Service.
There will be opportunities to mentor and support officers on lower grades and to undertake managerial roles, including authorising planning consents, allocating workloads, and representing the service at Planning Committees, Public Inquiries, and other necessary events.
This post is open to those have a relevant professional qualification and are eligible for membership of appropriate professional body, have significant demonstrable experience and expert knowledge of working in Planning, and have the ability to establish positive relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation and partners that generate confidence and respect.
Candidates must have the ability to analyse issues and set them down in a variety of written forms in a clear and concise manner and be able to organise workload and tasks independently to ensure deadlines, performance targets and customer service commitments are met.
They should also have a good understanding of the use of technology for the delivery of modern and streamlined services and processes.
