The Communities Directorate are seeking a highly motivated strategic and tactical thinker to lead on Barnsley’s approaches to cohesion, overseas migration, asylum and refugee resettlement. Working as part of the Safer Communities Service the role will require excellent communications and networking skills, the ability to work with national, regional and local partners and a good understanding of the dynamics associated with migration agendas.
This role will often be challenging and will require you to be able to balance the requirements of national policies and strategies with the local needs of the borough. You will need to be comfortable interpreting and analysing information and providing expert advice and direction to senior officers and politicians in the council. You will also need to link closely with other local authorities and agencies in the region to ensure that Barnsley contributes towards shaping and influencing migration and resettlement plans.
As an integral member of the Safer Barnsley Service, you will operate alongside a team of people committed to making Barnsley a safe and cohesive town and a place of possibilities for all.
