About the role
Under the Children and Social Work Act 2017 and subsequent revision to Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018, the responsibility for safeguarding children is placed with three named ‘safeguarding partners’, Local Authority, CCG and the Police who have a shared and equal duty to make arrangements to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children in a local area
The Business Manager, with a small team, deliver this function. The Local Authority host this team. The Business Manager manages this team, ensuring that the partnership develops, monitors and challenges the effectiveness of Brighton and Hove’s safeguarding arrangements, including the delivery of multi-agency training, policies, performance and undertaking learning reviews, both at a local and national level (Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews).

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

Permanent employees are eligible to apply for a secondment where they have:
held their current post for at least twelve months, obtained agreement from their line manager and have a defined development need that may be met through the secondment or there is a defined organisational need that will be met via the secondment
