About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Employability and Skills team to lead and project manager a two-year pilot, funded by the Careers and Enterprise Company, to support the effective transition of current year 10 pupils into post 16 education, employment or training in 2023. The pilot will focus specifically on a cohort of young people who are eligible for Free School Meals and have chronically poor school attendance. The programme will be part of wider national research to understand the benefits of holistic support and careers-related interventions.

The role will support and oversee the delivery of the project by partner CXK’s East Sussex Youth Employability Service (YES) and the East Sussex County Council Work Experience team. The role will work alongside the East Sussex Careers Hub and will require strong partnership working with schools as well as a number of Children’s Services departments, such as the Behaviour and Attendance Service (ESBAS), Early Help, and social services. Partnership working with colleges and post-16 training providers will also be required to secure and sustain post-16 destinations.

The role will be required to monitor and report on progress and KPIs against the programme delivery plan to the Careers and Enterprise Company, as well as monitoring the project risk register and working closely with the ESCC Aspire data team. The role will require robust research and analytical skills to gather and interpret data, ongoing evaluations, undertake longitudinal studies and gather evidence of impact against a Theory of Change model, presenting this to key stakeholders at both local and national level.

Interviews will take place via Microsoft Teams.
