About the role
The Placement Support Service sits with the Fostering team and works closely with the Fostering Team, Through Care Team, Virtual School and LACCAMHS.
The service consists of a Practice Manager, a part time Senior Social Worker, 20+ Placement Support Workers and is supported by 2 administration officers.
The service is looking for another part time Senior Social Worker to join the team on 18-22 hours, primarily working Wednesday to Friday.
You will be responsible for agreeing referrals in consultation with the PM and will need to take the matching of children, carers and staff into consideration when allocating support.
You will then organise a set up meeting with the placement support worker, the Foster Carer, Supervising Social Worker and Children’s Social Worker, where the goals of the support work will need to be agreed. You will then need to review the packages on a minimum six monthly basis. Packages can consist of 1-1 support, holiday group activities, babysitting or a combination of these.
The applicant would be required to provide oversight and supervision of 10+ Placement Support Workers. The applicant will need to demonstrate excellent coordination skills and will need to be highly organised; and be able to respond to urgent requests for support, sometimes with limited information.
