About the role
We are looking to recruit a team leader to manage the Workstyles Team. The role offers a varied, interesting and diverse workload, working with colleagues across the council to deliver an ambitious programme of change across Brighton & Hove City Council, using property to drive greater collaboration and innovation between teams and partners.
It is an exciting and interesting time to be joining the team, with high-profile projects about to enter their delivery stage, including the largest regeneration scheme the city has seen in decades.
In light of COVID19, the way the council operates is changing. We will also be leading work to modernise the organisation's workplaces and respond to this unprecedented challenge. You will be a key member of staff in influencing the future ways of working for the organisation as we develop our future operational model
As the successful candidate you will have experience of influencing and negotiating at a senior level to drive improvement and resolve conflicting strategic agendas, delivering ambitious change programmes within large and complex organisations, applying change management principles in a major change programme and demonstrable understanding of the principles of change management. You will understand the financial challenges facing local authorities and how modernisation programmes can support them, managing service, project and programme budgets in accordance with public sector standards and be able to shape strategy and policy to achieve better outcomes for residents and customers within a complex and politically sensitive environment.
There's a lot to do, and we need someone who is passionate about making change happen, is comfortable working in a complex political environment, and has a proven track record of providing excellent project management and acting as a role model for staff, managers, partner agencies and stakeholders on change and improvement. You will have a degree or similar management qualification, a formal qualification or training in project management (PRINCE2 or equivalent) and programme management (MSP or equivalent).

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
