Community Pest Control Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Community Team for a Pest Control Officer. Working across Huntingdonshire, you will respond to calls for service in relation to Pest Control across the District.

As a Community Pest Control Officer, you will develop and deliver pest control solutions to effectively address issues of:

• Rodents

• Insects

• Internal pest related issues

• Commercial solutions for small, medium and large businesses

• Prevention and intervention reports for HDC services

 

Reporting to the Senior Community Protection and Enforcement Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that treatments are carried out in a timely and professional manner adhering to relevant regulations, including detailed information to customers.

 

The successful candidate will be expected to work with members of the community as well as Parish, Town and District Councillors to share and receive information regarding Pest Control issues.

 

The role will require the successful candidate to have a working knowledge of relevant regulations in relation to delivering a successful Pest Control Service.

 

The post holder will be expected to have qualifications in safe handling of chemicals for pest control and the knowledge of how to transport chemicals and baits safely.

 

The successful candidate will have:

•        An enthusiasm for problem solving;

•        Experience of working with the public;

•        Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

·       Experience of using an information management system for monitoring daily works;

·       A customer focus;

•        The ability to remain calm, polite and professional in challenging situations;

•        The ability to work outside in all weathers as well as in an office environment;

·       A full driving licence and ability to drive District Council owned vehicles.

 

You will need to be able to work flexibly in line with the needs of the role which may include occasional weekend working.

Permanent post working 37 hours per week. Please note that the postholder will be required to undertake a DBS check.
