Sessional Childcare Officer

About you
We are looking for sessional childcare workers to join our team, working with the children, who receive short breaks within our range of services.
You will be experienced and have a good understanding of the needs of children with learning difficulties/disabilities, some of whom may at times display challenging behaviour. You will be knowledgeable about the issues relating to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
You will receive a full and comprehensive training programme as part of your induction, and ongoing training and supervision. You are required to be trained to Residential Childcare NVQ level 3 or equivalent, or be willing to work towards this.

About the role
As a sessional childcare worker you will work alongside the Childcare Officers to ensure that the children’s views and wishes are listened to and needs met, as well as contributing to the smooth and effective running of the service. You will be working flexible hours and at times, provide annual leave or sickness cover, within a 24 hour rota. Regular work is not guaranteed, as you will be part of a ‘bank’ of staff who we can contact to cover shifts, although some regular shifts may be available.
The role also requires all staff to be trained to Residential Childcare (NVQ) level 3 or equivalent, or be willing to work towards this.

Closing date: 11pm, 30th October 2021

Interview Date: Week beginning Monday 8th November 2021

For an informal discussion, please contact Tony Waite or Mel Budge on 0118 9695977
