Civil Enforcement Officer

If you don’t care much for spending all day in front of a computer, then the Civil Enforcement Officer role could be just right for you. This is a challenging job but brings with it the rewards of making a real difference to the community.

By enforcing the borough’s parking restrictions, you will be helping us reduce congestion, improve safety on our roads and making sure that residents and visitors are able to find somewhere to park.

The role will bring you into regular contact with members of the public who may ask you about a wide range of things, not just parking, so a commitment to providing great customer service and good communication skills are essential.

You will be part of a very supportive team, but the role does involve patrolling by yourself, so you will need to be resilient and comfortable with working on your own initiative. You will be covering a number of miles on foot each day so also need a reasonable level of fitness.

You will normally work 37 hours per week in shift patterns, covering 7 days a week from 7.30am to 7pm so you will need to have the flexibility to work weekends, early mornings and evenings on a two week cycle.
