The starting salary for this role is £9.60 per hour plus annual leave allowance. 

Surrey Outdoor Learning & Development offers year round outdoor learning experiences to children, young people and adults. Our staff deliver a range of programmes including land based, water based and residential programmes to our visitors. We have spacious log cabins, camping in teepees and our fully furnished authentic yurts.

Our catering and domestic team ensure that all buildings and accommodation are clean, prepared and ready for our groups. We provide our visitors with healthy nutritious meals, refreshments and snacks. We also cater for corporate groups, special events, outdoor catering and at times are required to work in challenging environments.

We are looking for catering and domestic staff to cover work across our three busy centres.

Approximate hours of catering shifts at all centres are 7am - 12pm and 3pm - 8pm. 

Approximate hours for housekeeping shifts at High Ashurst and Henley Fort are 9.30am - 2.30pm. 

About You 

We are looking for reliable, conscientious catering and domestic staff to take care of our visitors and facilities. We need staff that take pride in their work and have a positive 'can do' attitude. Able to work well independently, as at times you will be required to lone work, you will be confident in making decisions and using your initiative and will have good attention to detail.

Although this is a dual role, we are also looking for staff who specialise in either catering or housekeeping.

Catering specialist - The role will be varied requiring good catering skills. You will assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals at our centres.

Housekeeping specialist - This includes all domestic aspects of hospitality. Duties will include cleaning, replenishing stock, preparing beds, and laundry.

Ideal candidates will have an interest or background in hospitality and catering. This role requires the post holder to hold a valid Food Hygiene certificate. However, this is not required at the point of application as full training will be provided if necessary.

High Ashurst and Henley Fort are in remote locations. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you carefully consider your transportation arrangements.
