The starting salary for this position is £31,273 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.
The Highways and Transport Service is responsible for ensuring the effective management, maintenance and improvement of all highway and transport assets. These are the most valuable assets managed by Surrey County Council with a replacement value of approximately £7.5bn, are critical to the economic growth of the County and are regarded by members and residents as one of the most important services provided by the Council.
As Senior Technician you will assist the Asset Programme Manager responsible for carriageways and footways. Collaborative working with other asset teams such as drainage & structures will also be required. There are a small number of Technicians who work flexibly across the asset teams as required.
In this role you will assist with the implementation of all team functions and activities, providing technical input as required, as part of a project team to maintain consistent, high quality, efficient and effective Asset Policy and Programme services.
To be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence:
- Experience of working within a team demonstrating technical knowledge
- An ability to maintain and interpret datasets
- HNC or equivalent in engineering and/or equivalent relevant experience
