Personal Assistant required for a young lady with Cerebal Palsy, who is in a wheelchair and suffers with lower limb issues and resides in Crown Wood, Bracknell. The individual describes herself as being a people person and has various interests such as arts and crafts, crosswords, going out and about shopping, going to a local café, going to choir etc.
The support required is the following:
Toileting calls during the day which are currently 15 minutes in duration, Monday to Sunday to assist with mobilising on and off the toilet. Times and days required to be agreed between the individual and the Personal Assistant. The individual can mobilise on and off the toilet with minimal manual handling required.
Possibly, up to 5 hours per week for social time to go out and about in the community, attend choir practice and assist with activities within the home. Times and days required to be agreed between the individual and the Personal Assistant. A car is not required to transport the individual, it will be to accompany her on public transport or in a taxi.
Rates of pay are £9.32 an hour Monday to Saturday and £12.09 an hour on Sunday.
The role is required on a permanent basis. There will be an opportunity/expectation that you will be able to cover additional calls including 7am and 10pm calls on a temporary basis when other PA’s are away. The 7am and 10pm calls involve personal care and transferring from and to bed and are paid at a different rate which will be discussed during the interview.
