An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and qualified individual to join our newly restructured Leisure Service Team.
The team focuses on the delivery of the Council’s Sport and Leisure Facility Strategy. This identifies the need for the provision of new facilities associated with new housing developments, community development and works closely with our contractors on the continued delivery of leisure facilities across the authority.
All of these play a major role in enhancing the opportunities for residents to live healthy lives.
As part of our team you will deliver leisure projects from start to end. You will have to carry out research to initiate your projects, produce the business case, investigate and apply for external funding, organise contractors and monitor the budget.
You will be part of a small team working collaboratively on projects to deliver the Council’s leisure action plan.
We are looking for an individual with experience in the delivery of projects, ideally within a leisure setting, who is looking to develop their skills and experience to help to enhance the sport and leisure facilities within North Somerset.
You need to be confident to work with a range of stakeholder on projects, both internally within the council and externally with local groups, contractors and sport organisations.
You should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be computer literate.
Whilst the COVID restrictions are in place the role will be mainly working from home, however going forward work is likely to be split between home and office.
For an informal discussion, please contact Karlie Phillips, Leisure Manager on Mobile: 07824 085769 or the general Leisure Service number: 01934 427 222
