To be an active member of the theatre’s marketing team as a member of the box office department.
To sell tickets and maximise sales by telephone, across the counter and via the website and mobile for all events at the theatre. To advise patrons about online booking.
To sell or reserve additional facilities relating to a patron’s visit including merchandise, workshops, catering etc.
To have a working knowledge of the box office reporting system ensuring that the correct information is disseminated to clients and other members of the team.
To develop and maintain profitable and long term relationships with group bookers, building relationships with key contacts.
To assist in the day to management of cash for the Woodville including making up floats and monitoring the safe contents.
To be pro-active in the smooth running of the Woodville Box Office team to ensure a positive experience for patrons and to ensure maximum income for the theatre.
To be an effective and flexible member of the box office team and to be available for work during the evening, weekends and bank holidays.
Undertake a range of specialist tasks including:
To carry out ticket sales duties using the theatre’s computerised booking system, conversing with the public in person and by telephone and ensuring constant attention to detail for a smooth and courteous transaction on all occasions.
To be fully informed and pro-active in the marketing of the venues products, services and facilities, looking to create sales opportunities whenever possible.
To participate in telephone sales campaigns as requested and to undertake any training required to assist effectiveness in this area
To work with the box office ticketing agent to ensure maximum efficiency and accuracy of reporting and sales information.
At the end of each shift, to account for personal takings and reconcile these with computerised reports.
To ensure that floats are made up accurately for all departments of the Woodville on a daily basis.
To ensure that there is sufficient change in appropriate denominations for the efficient running of all cash reliant areas of the business.
To undertake regular safe checks ensuring the contents are relevant and reporting any anomalies to the General Manager.
To carry out the producing of all end of the day financial and marketing reports and ensuring the system is closed down as required.
- Experience of working in a customer services / customer facing environment
- Administration experience
- Experience of working within a Sales / Marketing / Commercial environment
- Experience of working with cash-handling and/or carrying out daily banking functions
- An interest or passion in Theatre and/or the Arts
- Experience of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
