About the role
We have an excellent and rewarding opportunity for a Financial Assessment Officer to join the Finance & Benefits Assessment team within Adult Social Care Financial Services.
You’ll be responsible for completing financial assessments and financial recording processes, adhering to both local policy framework and current national statutory guidance.
The team’s main roles include:
- completing financial assessments for clients receiving chargeable care and support arranged by us
- supporting clients who are in financial hardship
- providing advice and guidance to clients and the public on charging for care.
You’ll need to correspond with clients, their representatives and professionals by telephone, letter and email. Our customers require varying levels of support therefore excellent customer service skills will be required.
You will also complete face-to-face visits with clients across the county to complete financial assessments but predominantly be visiting in the Hastings & Rother areas.
You’ll need knowledge of working with computers including Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office. You’ll work on a number of bespoke database systems for which you will receive full training and ongoing support.
Due to the requirements of the role you need to work on your own initiative and be organised, self-motivated, collaborative, empathic and have an understanding of the needs of vulnerable people.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
