About the role

STEP Academy Cook for Hawkes Farm Academy

30 hours per week. Term time only (including INSET days)

Grade 4 SCP 10 FTE Salary £19,312pa - Pro Rata Salary £13,465pa

We are looking to appoint a Cook for one of our busy, vibrant Academy kitchens at Hawkes Farm Academy, Hailsham, East Sussex. 

We can offer you:

The successful candidate must:

•         Have previously managed, assisted or deputised own unit;

•         Have a knowledge of food preparation;

•         Have experience of training staff in basic kitchen skills;

•         Be to lead and motivate staff;

•         Demonstrate a willingness and enthusiasm for training and progression;

•         Have an ability to read and complete simple instructions, such as cleaning rota, work rota, temperature and control sheets;

•         Be able to communicate with all kitchen, staff and pupils;

•         Display and maintain a high standard of personal hygiene;

•         Be able to encourage children to select a balanced meal;

•         Display a commitment to the Trust’s equalities policies.
