About the role

CLERK TO TRUSTEES & LOCAL GOVERNING BOARD

Single Status Grade 9 Points 23-25 - £26,427-£28,548 per annum pro rata
for 300 hours per year (approx. 6 hours per week)
Hours will be negotiated flexibly in advance and will include attendance at evening meetings

Cavendish Education Trust is looking for a highly organised governance professional who would relish the opportunity to work in our newly formed Trust. The Trustees are looking to appoint a self-motivated and proactive person at an exciting time in the development of the Trust. This will be an important and rewarding role for the right candidate.   

You will need skills in good administrative practice and experience of minute taking. You will also need to be confident in the use of Word, Excel and email as well as excellent electronic file/document storage. Responsibilities will include;

  • working effectively with the chair of trustees and the chair of the local governing board to secure the continuity and consistency of the Trust’s business. 
  • to advise on procedural and legislative matters to ensure the Trust works to the legal framework. 
  • managing governance compliance especially in government websites such as companies house and getting information about schools.

Tasks include the preparation and circulation of papers, attendance at meetings and minute taking; maintaining a business calendar including policy reviews.
