The Platform is seeking a highly motivated, skilled and enthusiastic individual to provide duty management cover at the Platform in Morecambe and when necessary, at Ashton Hall and The Storey in Lancaster. The post holder will also support the Council’s annual festival programme. We want to make a real difference to people’s lives by delivering an ambitious festival and events programme.

Experience in contributing to managing an entertainment venue, dealing with artists and supervising/directing staff is essential and you must also have the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative, prioritise tasks and move and set up equipment.

We are looking for someone with knowledge of events logistics and it would be desirable if you had basic knowledge of sound and lighting equipment.

The post holder must hold a current Personal Alcohol Licence and First Aid Certificate.

This post is permanent. The hours are 25 hours per week working on a shift rota basis, including evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays and possible shift splits. The post is based at The Platform in Morecambe, but the post holder will be required to work from other venues around the district.

The Council currently operates an excellent Flexible Working Hours Scheme which applies to this post. Subject to the needs of this business, this may allow employees to work between the hours of 6:00am-10:30pm.

Lancaster City Council has unanimously declared a climate emergency and will therefore work towards reducing carbon emissions to net-zero by 2030. As part of this role, you will be expected to participate and work towards reducing carbon emissions.
