eNVIRONMENTAL hEALTH OFFICER (cONTACT TRACER)
Principal Officer Grade 6 (£35,745 per annum)
Temporary Fixed Contract to 31st October 2022
We are looking for a professionally qualified and skilled officer who is competent, confident, enthusiastic and highly motivated to fill the above post in the Commercial Services Team. You will have an integral role in the early identification and management of potential outbreaks and will use your skills to interview positive COVID-19 cases and their contacts. You will also have a key role in supporting and signposting residents for support and wellbeing.

The role can be undertaken remotely.
Working under the day-to-day direction of the Commercial Team Leader, you will be expected to carry out normal duties associated with Covid Contact Tracing including information gathering, investigations, supporting consequence management and representing Barrow Borough Council at County groups. You will be required to work flexibly which will include weekends and evenings, to ensure that our response is timely, enabling the council to move swiftly to contain any outbreaks. You will be an effective communicator with the ability to converse at ease with customers and being able to provide information, advice and instruction in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement.
You must hold the Diploma or BSc/MSc in Environmental Health and be registered as an EHO with the Environmental Health Registration Board or equivalent. The post is offered on a full time of 37 hours per week.
You will be required to work flexibly and will contribute to a 7 days per week rota which will include weekends and evenings, to ensure that our response is timely and effective. You should have a can-do attitude and be an excellent communicator.
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide information, advice and instruction in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement.

The successful candidate will be automatically enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme and will be required to obtain a Basic Disclosure.
