About the role
These roles are the Council’s key resource in ensuring its IT systems and staff are kept secure, resilient, and comply with legislation for data handling, gathering & processing.
The role is responsible for performing risk assessments on IT systems, ensuring that the Continuity, Integrity and Availability are evaluated and are at an appropriate level to meet the council’s requirements. This involves effective communication with the business to convey risks and agree a level of risk acceptance. This role may also be asked to assist in security incidents or provide evidence for staff disciplinary hearings. The role also assists in the business continuity of IT &D Services and its systems. The role is expected to keep up to date on developments in IT security, legislation and governance, notifying IT teams of possible implications of change.
The ideal candidate will have good working knowledge of Data Protection in local government, records management, data processing and experience with IT Technology.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
