Assistant Headteacher (SENDCO) Required for January 2022

Leadership Scale L1-5

Following the promotion of the current Postholder, The Bridge Short Stay School are looking to appoint an exceptional individual to fulfil the role of Assistant Headteacher. This post currently includes the role of SENDCo, areas of responsibility will be agreed with the successful candidate, but the ability to continue to develop our SEN provision would be an advantage

The Bridge works with students who have been permanently excluded or who are without a school place. Rated as ‘Good’ in all areas by OFSTED in May 2018 we are passionate about providing a second opportunity to students who have struggled in education previously. The successful candidate must believe in the potential of all young people and be able to demonstrate a commitment to growth in students who demonstrate challenging behaviours.

As a member of SLT, the successful candidate will provide leadership to the school and help to drive forward further improvements in provision. This post will be integral to our work in developing teaching & learning and in supporting successful transitions in and out of the school.  You will join a happy and hardworking staff team who care passionately about improving the life chances of young people.

This is an excellent opportunity for a current middle or senior leader with further leadership aspirations. You’ll be supported to develop autonomous leadership of your areas of responsibility with access to further CPD enabling you to grow your own skills and potential for further promotion in the future.

The skills of the successful candidate are important, but we place equal value on someone having the right motivation, resilience, empathy and aspirations to work with our students and continue to drive forward standards in our school. If you have these qualities, we’ll look forward to receiving your application.
