About the role
We are seeking an innovative and supportive leader to join our Learning Disability Management Team.
High quality, person centred support describes the service area you will lead on within our East Sussex Community Support Service, providing support to adults with a learning disability in their own home, so that people can lead fulfilling lives.
You will bring creativity, diligence and resilience to our county wide service and Supported Living schemes based in Crowborough, Ringmer, Hailsham and Eastbourne. You will be central to supporting registered managers in achieving great outcomes for the people they support.
The role is diverse, challenging and rewarding, with no two days the same. You will bring proven and sound leadership skills and be passionate about helping people to develop themselves, having the ability to motivate and inspire others.
Having a strong working knowledge of relevant social care legislation and relevance CQC standards for domiciliary care is key to this role.
Within this role you will be responsible for promoting a culture that is based on respect and dignity. You will bring with you a commitment to providing excellent support, continuous learning and reflection, along with an ethos of working together in a dynamic way. You will lead the service to maintain high standards within a Quality Assurance Framework.

You will bring experience of managing sizeable budgets and delivering services to vulnerable people at a strategic level so that our services develop and evolve to meet customer need as you join the senior management team within learning disability services applying critical thinking to how we provide services.
As this role is managing a county wide service and will involve frequent travelling around East Sussex and at short notice, being a car driver and having access to a vehicle for work is essential to this role. Applicants will need to demonstrate how they can meet the travel requirements as part of the shortlisting criteria.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
