About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Specialist Intervention Team, which sits under the Children’s Disability Service.
SIS work county wide and provide structured and outcome focussed pieces of work that are unique to the family and their needs.
We are looking for a proactive, resilient team player who is confident in challenging situations, as well as someone that is open to developing their skills and wants to achieve the best outcomes for the Children and Young People. You will ideally have experience of working with children with social and emotional difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorder including those with pathological demand avoidance profile and speech, language and communication needs and other complex needs.
This role is a great introduction into Children’s Social Care, as a Specialist Intervention Worker you will be working closely with the allocated Social Worker as well as alongside other professionals including health and education colleagues. This is a diverse and varied role where no two days are the same, you will be part of an experienced and supportive team working with our most complex children and young people and families, often to avoid family breakdown.
You will be required to attend and contribute to multi agency meetings. You will feel confident working in a multi-partnership way and will be skilled at developing relationships with other agencies. You will need to be able to work autonomously, manage your time and workload while also working closely with the children and young people and families. This role will include completion of paperwork and using computer systems on a regular basis. This role will involve frequent travel and it is essential you hold a current driving license and have access to your own car.
You will be given full training and support with regular supervision in order to be able to undertake this role.
