Beach House is recruiting 1 Deputy Manager (permanent) 24 hours per week and 1 Deputy Manager (Fixed Term) 30 hours per week for six months.

About the role

About us:

At Beach House we provide respite and emergency respite care for adults with a learning disability. The service currently provides respite to nearly 50 service users, and provides a vital support service to local families and other providers. We work very closely with social workers and clinical staff in the Specialist Community Disability Service (SCDS) to ensure service user and families support needs are met as best as possible.Our dedicated team of staff work hard to ensure that our service users’ specific needs are met in a caring and sensitive manner and skills are developed in a way that promotes their independence.

Our last CQC inspection rated the service as “good” noting that family and carers were very happy with the staff team and the service that is provided to their family member.

About the role

We are looking to recruit two Deputy Managers who have proven experience of working with people who have learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. You will play an important role in supporting the manager to further develop the service and lead the staff team. You will also need to work closely with families and a multi-disciplinary team. 

About you

You will need to have experience and an understanding of staff supervision, have clear written and verbal communication skills and be able to work within and manage the team. It is preferable that the successful candidate has a full driving licence (three points maximum) to drive the unit cars.

Additional Information

You will be required to work a shift pattern including earlies, lates, sleepins and some weekends. Having a full clean driving licence is advantageous but not essential.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
