About the role
Working directly with children, their families and schools, you’ll conduct assessments and provide support to address concerns in relation to poor behaviour and attendance at school.
As part of an existing team of experienced staff, you will work alongside professionals in drawing up and delivering bespoke packages of support. This will involve mentoring the pupil, as well as working with the family and school to establish positive, effective working relationships that lead to a greater impact in improving positive attendance/behavioural outcomes for children and young people and engagement and learning. In your role as a practitioner you will also be required to fulfil the expectations set out in the legislative framework that underpins the work of Education Support, Behaviour and Attendance Service (ESBAS).
As a skilled practitioner, you will have experience of working within an educational setting with children and their families and the confidence to help those with behavioural and/or attendance problems. As well as a genuine interest in this area, you’ll also bring sound observation and evaluation skills and the ability to engage effectively with children and young people.
There are 4 posts available, 2 based in Ocean House, St Leonards on Sea, 1 in St Marks House, Eastbourne and 1 in County Hall, Lewes – these posts are part of the area team as outlined in addendum 1 on the job description.
