The Commercial Services Manager is a new role where the postholder will have the opportunity to manage multiple commercial projects and operations, while enhancing the Borough, the Council and their own professional portfolio.

This new role will be crucial to delivering the vision and aspirations of local people, as well as driving forward key deliverables from our Four Year and Recovery Plans.

We are seeking an individual with an enterprising approach and significant experience of the successful management of customer facing, income generating services.

The role requires management of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the operation of the council’s venues and services including the Community and Wellbeing Centre, Bourne Hall, Playhouse Theatre, Harriers Athletics facility and Hook Road Area.

Services include all activities, events and refreshment in all our venues, Community Transport, Community Alarm and Telecare, Meals at Home, and development of activities and sports in our parks and much more.

Local government knowledge is desirable, but not as essential as being able to demonstrate strong communication, negotiation and contract management skills alongside a flair for developing complex financial modelling systems. You will be confident working alongside senior leaders and elected representatives and working in a highly pressured and sensitive environment.
