About the role
We are looking for an experienced analyst with knowledge and experience of working with/in public health to join the COVID response team within East Sussex Public Health Intelligence.
Working remotely, the post will be responsible for:
- Developing and managing parts of the COVID-19 surveillance function and providing specialist analytical support to the wider public health team, others in the council and partners in the NHS.
- Collecting, analysing and interpreting COVID data and information from many different sources including those outside the health sector.
- Developing, introducing and maintaining information systems and analytical expertise to assist the Director of Public Health in fulfilling their public health responsibilities.
Educated to degree level or equivalent in statistics / demography / epidemiology reflecting strong numeracy skills and understanding of statistical techniques. In-depth knowledge of COVID related data sources and their scope and limitations for use in public health intelligence. Expertise in the analysis, interpretation and presentation of data.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
