Job introduction

Do you enjoy a fast-moving environment? Are you a natural problem solver?  Do you enjoy working both independently and part as part of a team?  Are you organised with a good attention to detail?

If so, then why not join our friendly Administration Team within the Specialist Community Disability Service.

As a Team Administrator you will be providing support to a team of Social Workers and Clinicians who work with children and adults with learning disabilities to provide a whole life pathway. You will be based at our recently refurbished offices at Wellington House, Wellington Street (just off of Elm Grove).

About the role

This post involves a great deal of flexibility and variation, which would suit individuals motivated by working in a stimulating and evolving environment.

We work with families, carers and a range of services across the city and duties will include: call screening of incoming calls; setting up and servicing of client related meetings/clinics – some of which may include exposure to distressing information; maintaining accurate records on our databases.

You will be an excellent communicator as well as being highly organised.  You will possess the ability to problem solve and manage a workload of competing demands. You will enjoy working independently as well as part of a team. Evidence of the following criteria is desirable:

·         Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel

·         Accuracy and attention to detail

·         Ability to take minutes of complex meetings, ideally within social services or similar

·         Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload

·         The ability to multi-task and work on own initiative

·         The ability to deal with sensitive information in a discrete way

·          You will be a flexible team player with a solution focused attitude

The ideal candidates will generally look forward to a challenging and rewarding work environment, in which finding a balance between team working and utilising initiative is important.

The role 9:00 – 5:00 Monday/Tuesday & Thursday/Friday (30 hours).

In return our offer to you will be:

·         23 days leave a year (pro-rata), rising to 27 after 5 years of continuous service

·         Pension scheme

·         1-2-1 support from your Business Support Manager

·         Peer support from your team colleagues

·         A program of learning and development opportunities

·         Other benefits include:  season bus ticket loans, cycle to work scheme, reduction in gym membership with Freedom Leisure and a staff discount scheme.
