West Lancashire Borough Council own and manage circa 6,500 homes across the Skelmersdale and Ormskirk areas. The Property Services Team manage the Statutory Compliance of those homes; ensuring they are safe, warm and meet the requirements of the Fire Safety Order and other statutory standards
The Council runs a robust Compliance Department which is driven by legislation and the desire to ensure all our tenants, visitors, contractors and employees live and work in a safe environment. The main emphasis of the compliance department is to prove compliance through evidence and due process. As we continue our digital journey we are introducing cloud based systems and procedures which provide a transparent vision of the council's performance within safety compliance.
We have now identified an opportunity to join the Compliance Team, as a Contract and Compliance Support Officer. The key areas the post will be focusing on are:
Support a team of specialist surveyors on the delivery of the day to day technical and operational management of Compliance procedures and processes, ensuring we are compliant with West Lancashire Borough Council policies in property safety.
Use established key performance indicators to drive efficiencies, and monitor contractor performance to continually improve service delivery and ensure all contractors are 3rd party accredited.
Work closely with the Facilities Manager, Response Maintenance Manager and Investment Manager to ensure that they support an effective and coherent approach to statutory compliance, with particular emphasis on the management of asbestos, fire safety, electrical compliance, water management and gas servicing.
Working with customers to capture their views; ensuring the service is customer focussed and that the customer is aware for the need of compliance.
You will need to be a team player with proven experience in working in a fast paced environment, who can support a team in delivering a compliance focused front line service, that is open to implementing new ways of working, and solutions focused to develop digitalisation of auditable evidence.
