About the role

22.5 hours per week (Tuesday, Fridays and some evening/weekends)
An exciting opportunity has risen for a Spiritual Support Coordinator to expand our Spiritual Support Service at St Michael’s Hospice. The post holder will have a diverse role working across Hastings and Rother to support people with serious and advanced illness, and their communities, to explore their spiritual needs at end of life.
Working alongside our existing Spiritual Support Coordinator, you will work as part of an interdisciplinary team of staff and volunteers providing holistic support. As we look to increase accessibility, you will develop volunteers and staff to provide spiritual support, as well as supporting patients and their communities directly. You will have the ability to reflect on self, and have confidence in holding difficult conversations with patients and communities, while they explore death, dying and loss.
We are looking for an individual who is innovative and skilled in volunteer management, IT and service development. You will work in a number of settings across the Hastings and Rother community, and remotely via telephone or virtual technology. You will create opportunities to ensure a spiritual service which is open to all.
