About the role
We are seeking committed, resilient and well organised team players to join our friendly Revenues team, in delivering a professional and exceptional service to the public. You will be responsible for administering residents accounts and maintaining accurate and up to date records, whilst ensuring that we comply with current legislation.
You will be great at helping people and working under pressure, sensitively supporting customers from all backgrounds. You will be required to answer customers local taxation queries and help them agree suitable payment arrangements. The ability to work accurately is paramount and ideally you will have previous customer service experience and good negotiation skills, but this is not essential as full training is given and continuous personal development is available.
We are recruiting to 7 positions and you will together form a team for your first 12 weeks which you will spend in a training environment, where you will be fully supported by existing team members and be taught everything you need to do the role.
We are constantly adapting our communication styles, providing wider digital options to make our service more accessible to everybody.
As part of the largest public facing service in the Council, the service provides the skills required to address the diverse nature of our customers and their enquiries.

Please note* The role is traditionally based at Bartholomew’s House offices in Brighton. Currently, most staff are working from home. We are currently looking at future working arrangements, therefore, you may be required to work remotely until the Council makes any changes to these working arrangements.
We would consider remote working however, there will be occasions when you will be required to attend the office.
