About the role
The post is based at Milton Grange in Eastbourne, primarily working as part of the generic physiotherapy team, but you will be expected to support across the whole building which includes Occupational Therapy and mental health services as and when required.
Milton grange is a flexible and responsive service, so you would be expected to adapt and respond to the ever-changing needs of the service.
Milton Grange is an intermediate care unit and our role is to prevent hospital admissions and support safe and timely discharges. We are a short-term service focusing on reablement and our average length of stay is around 28 days. You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team carrying out a range of treatments and activities set out by the qualified Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist to help improve client’s function and independence to facilitate safe discharges.
Milton Grange is a 24-hour service, but the core hours of the therapy team are 8-6 weekdays and 8-4 at weekends. You would be expected to work shifts within these hours on a rota basis to include weekends.
You will be provided with regular support and supervision from a qualified practitioner.
There may be times you are required to support in other locations.
There is an expectation for therapy staff to work with clients that have infectious diseases including Covid 19, with appropriate PPE provided.
As part of your training you will be expected to complete your competencies framework.
There will be the opportunity in the future to undertake Occupational Therapy Apprenticeship.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
