£24,780 per annum for 36 hours per week based at working from home during COVID.
To provide a business support service within the IT & Digital Service and to support senior staff with both the administrative and IT aspects of business administration. This support is for staff based in Surrey. The post holder is responsible for maintaining, developing and reviewing all business support systems, processes and procedures to secure a quality, cost effective service and to effect continuous improvement. In addition, they will oversee the delivery of the team’s services to ensure that effective services are delivered that meet service standards.
Roles at this level provide a business support service as part of a specific service or service team. They will carry out a range of administrative tasks using knowledge of general office routines and procedures, together with a broad understanding of the department and how the tasks directly support the service or service team. The work is within established processes and procedures and while it may not be subject to direct supervision, guidance is readily available. They will be expected to organise their own workload and set their own priorities within short, e.g. day-to-day or week-to-week timescales, usually reacting to clear deadlines or processes. They support more senior staff by executing the detailed processes in specific aspects of business, financial, communication, facilities and/or HR administration and will be fully versed in all the procedures of their specialism. For some roles, customer service may be the predominant feature, e.g. dealing with a variety of clients in relation to a department’s activities. Others may support a group of more senior staff with some of the more routine duties and ensure matters are dealt with appropriately when they are out of the office.
To be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence:
- Recognised supplier relationship management experience
- Must be able to work accurately with attention to a high level of detail
- Have an understanding of Information Governance (policies, processes and procedures)
- Practical business support skills acquired through previous work experience in a business services environment providing support to staff and/or the public
- Experience of analysing information to solve queries, either in relation to transactional processes or basic interpretation of policy
- Experience of raising purchase orders/payment of invoices on a supplier relationship management system
- Experience of working from a team mailbox with multiple users.
