SPORT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COORDINATOR

30 HOURS PER WEEK

GRADE E      £23,541 to £27,041 (pro rata)

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to work within the Sport and Health Development Team to develop and manage a range of schemes and initiatives to improve physical activity levels and the health and well-being of participants of all ages and abilities. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to chair and contribute at meetings with stakeholders and be able to work flexibly in both busy teams and on your own initiative. Hours of work will include day time working and on occasion includes weekends and evenings and bank holidays.

You will be responsible for managing and where appropriate delivering a range of health and physical activity sessions and programmes to participants of all ages and abilities with an aim to engage, sustain and retain levels of participation. Specific focus of the position includes the development and implementation of physical activity and health initiatives, securing external grant funding, community based development and supporting wider systems to increase sport and active recreational opportunities, such as active travel.

You will have a sound knowledge and experience of working with and engaging key partners including securing, managing and reporting external grant funded projects as well as an understanding of health and safety legislation.

You will have experience of effective supervision of staff, coaches and volunteers and will work across the physical activity and health sector to ensure effective communication and promotion of activities and programmes.
