About us

East Devon is independently recognised as an outstanding place and so it follows that its council must also strive to be outstanding.  Everything we do is aimed at ensuring that East Devon is a place that people want to live in, work in, visit and enjoy.  Our ambition is to be an outstanding council which works together with local people to create great value services and an outstanding community, economy and environment for East Devon, now and for future generations.

About the role

As a Planning Support Officer, you’ll provide comprehensive and efficient administration support to the planning teams.  This will include completing the registration and processing of notifications and planning applications, producing associated correspondence and assisting with general enquiries.  You’ll also be responsible for updating the planning database and plotting application sites on the GIS database making sure that any history is plotted and assigned correctly.

About you

With a good standard of education, you’ll be a confident and organised Administrator, with the ability to effectively prioritise your own workload and remain calm under pressure.  You must be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, and have good attention to detail, particularly as you will be working within a busy office.  An understanding of the planning process would be an advantage.
