This is an exciting opportunity to work in a team at the heart of the City Council supporting the effective political governance of the Council and its companies and delivering high quality support to elected city councillors.
Oxford is an open and dynamic Council with active and engaged councillors. This is reflected in the political governance arrangements through both formal committees and informal partnerships and panel arrangements. You will be responsible for managing a range of decision making committees (e.g. Council, Cabinet, regulatory committees), company board meetings, and informal member groupings, developing and delivering a range of support services, and working with councillors and officers to ensure good quality decision making.
The ideal candidate will be someone with experience in democratic services or in a related field. They will have excellent administrative and communication skills and able to demonstrate political acumen and attention to detail. In addition they will be a quick learner, flexible and be able to work confidently and collaboratively in a busy deadline driven environment.
