These are exciting time on the Isle of Wight within Adult Social Care, the whole service has supported a redesign that enhances strength-based practice, working with the community and our third sector partners , and we currently have a Social Care Officer vacancy.
• The Initial Adult Social Care Contact (IASCC) Team are looking for an enthusiastic Social Care Officer who will be based within our front door duty team supporting with the daily telephone assessments and where required will be our community responder to any same day urgent visits and /or support with any required joint visit.
The post holders will also undertake Initial Assessments and Care Act Assessments, and Care Act reviews, supporting people to remain as independent as possible within our community. The successful candidate will be using the Care Act criteria that enables the person to remain at home as well as showing the ability to work within a strength-based approach which is person centred and always has the person at the heart of any assessment.

Successful candidates will be suitably qualified with a NVQ3 in Care or equivalent. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of The Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Data Protection Act and evidence of ability to work to practice guidance/procedure. You will be required to take part in the Out of Hours (OOH) stand-by duty rota as and when requested by management on an occasional basis.
