About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated, enthusiastic and committed person to join our management team within Learning Disability Services focusing on our Supported Employment and Day Services referrals. As part of the management team you will work across our supported employment service and our four day services by leading on all referral enquiries and ensuring a throughput of these due to your excellent negotiating and influencing skills. In addition to your collaborative work with managers, the post holder will be working alongside social workers / care managers, making recommendations following assessment and signposting into an agreeing programme within our county wide services supporting a seamless referral process through to set up of service..
The referrals you will lead are for our county wide Supported Employment service called Steps to Work and our four Learning Disability Day Services based in Lewes, Crowborough, Eastbourne and Bexhill. You will be central to the service by establishing a network of links which will include key partners, stakeholders, care management and others. You will have line management responsibilities and will bring experience of this.
Having excellent communication skills and the ability to easily engage with others and promote a positive representation of the service is essential with a proven track record of this.
The supported employment service will have targets and you will have a key role in the service achieving these. Our day services are currently developing their model to include morning, afternoon and twilight sessions along with an increased community presence through new and existing community partnerships. Keeping abreast of existing and new opportunities along with overseeing where we have capacity for new referrals will be essential to this role. Therefore, your proven ability in managing a diverse workload and close collaboration with others will be key to your success.

This role is county wide and will involve frequent travelling around East Sussex and at short notice. Being a car driver and having access to a vehicle for work is essential to this role. Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
