About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to support the work of the Skills, Education, Employment and Training (SEET) team at East Sussex County Council. The purpose of the SEET team is to meet the training and employment priorities of local business and education providers to help sustain and grow our local economy and support our residents into meaningful work and learning.

The Interviews will take place on the morning of Wednesday 28 July 2021.

This role will take the minutes for a number of meetings each year specifically:

  • Skills East Sussex, our strategic skills Board
  • our business-led sector skills task groups and net zero working group
  • Apprenticeships East Sussex
  • Careers East Sussex
  • The ESTAR Forum

The post-holder will also support the team with the creation of a variety of careers advice resources by subtitling careers films for us.

You will be organised, confident, self-motivated, and good with people. You will be able to use your initiative, and you will need good skills in admin, IT (MS Outlook, MS Office) and also in minute-taking. Strong listening and written skills, with attention to detail and accuracy are essential.

Tasks include attendance at meetings in the daytime and minute taking. This is a part-time role, mainly working from home for virtual meetings (using Microsoft Teams) although there may be some meetings that take place in person as Covid restrictions lift. You will need to work flexibly as your hours will vary from week to week. A laptop will be provided.

Meetings have been scheduled for the coming year as follows. We would hope that the postholder would be available to minute-take on the majority of the following dates. The subtitling will be undertaken flexibly on a needs basis. It is anticipated that up to sixty (60) days of support will be required.
