Teacher of the Deaf/Primary Teacher – Sensory Needs Service – East Sussex
Salary Scale – Teacher’s main pay scale plus 2 SEN points if you are a Qualified Teacher of the Deaf. (1 point for SEND teacher)).
Full time post starting September 2020
An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of the Sensory Needs Service as a teacher within one of the Hearing Support Facilities. In the first instance, you will be based at a thriving, innovative Facility at Willingdon Primary School in Eastbourne working alongside the Lead Teacher of the Deaf. A qualified teacher of the deaf with primary experience is preferred however this position would suit an experienced teacher with a strong understanding of SEND at Primary Level or an outstanding Primary teacher with a strong understanding of literacy and language development.
You will have a sound knowledge of the Primary Curriculum and understand how to make it creative and dynamic to engage pupils who have speech and language difficulties associated with deafness. You will be responsible for planning and delivering 1:1 and small group interventions with a range of children across KS1and KS2 focusing primarily on developing their literacy and language skills.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
