12 Month Fixed Term Contract
Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC) is passionate about providing high quality services to our communities, residents and businesses and this means we need to employ and retain the most talented and dedicated people. Situated within the heart of the Cambridge-Peterborough Growth Area, Huntingdonshire is a beautiful district that boasts thriving market towns and many attractive villages, each with its own identity. We are an innovative and forward-thinking Local Authority whose residents are at the heart of our decision making.
We are seeking a creative individual to join the new Resident Advice Team to promote the service and encourage residents to engage and ultimately help them achieve better outcomes. This is an exciting new role with the opportunity to shape a communication programme that will make a positive difference to those living in Huntingdonshire. If you are enthusiastic and passionate with a positive approach to problem solving and the ability to motivate others, then this could be the opportunity for you.

You will be able to work under limited supervision and as part of a team and will have excellent presentation and communication skills that enables you to engage a wide range of audiences.
Known for your ability to work to deadlines, you will have experience of designing and delivering communication plans or media campaigns within either a business or community/ voluntary setting. You will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the approaches and methods of communication that will appeal to, and maximise the engagement of residents in this new initiative.
This role would suit an individual who has experience of working in a communications role or who has acted as the communications champion for a charity, community or voluntary group and can demonstrate affective use of a variety of different media tools as part of an educational, change or transformation programme.
The postholder will be required to hold a DBS.
We want to employ staff who embody our icare values (Inspiring, Collaborative, Accountable, Respectful, Enterprising) all of which support our ultimate purpose of putting our customers first.
