Placements Officer (Children’s Placements Team)
Working 36.5 hours per week, the Placement Finding Team is offering the role of a Placements Officer within the Children’s Placements Team.
As a Placements Officer you will provide a placement finding service for children in care. You will promote the wellbeing of children whilst also working on the principle of ‘Best Value’.
You will have responsibility for managing and organising a caseload of children who require planned & emergency placements into residential, fostering or supported accommodation provision
You will be familiar with, and have the ability to work within, legislation and guidance governing the placements of children in care, preferably already with placement, social work, residential work, or safeguarding experience.
You must be proficient in the use of IT, be able to interrogate multiple applications and maintain effective case recording and information systems.
You will need to be flexible and respond to changing priorities quickly. At times you will need to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
You will have the ability to negotiate appropriate levels of service provision taking into account best values principles and promote good working relationships with internal & external professionals
