Practice Improvement Consultant
We are looking for a skilled, experienced and Practice Improvement consultant to join a small team working with frontline practitioners and managers to continue to develop and build on best practice across children’s social care.
The team works across the practice system from Early Help, children in need of support and protection, to children ‘Looked After’ and care leavers. We lead on Croydon’s collaborative model of audit and case review; highlighting and learning from good and outstanding practice and identifying areas in need of improvement
We do not hold cases but work collaboratively and directly with social work teams to ‘close the loop’ in bringing messages from audit and review to inform and refresh practice. We run team based workshops, offer consultation and innovative ways of learning from practice through appreciative inquiry and other strengths based approaches.
We are working to ensure that the diverse voices of children, their parents and carers inform our case review model, and all aspects of our development work and evidencing the impact of this. As well as working closely with frontline social work teams you will be building on relationships with Croydon’s Academy, the leadership team and a range of multi-agency partners.
You will be a qualified and experienced advanced practitioner, practice supervisor or manager with a minimum of 4 years post qualification experience in a statutory social work setting and registered with Social Work England.
You will have experience of working with and managing risk and complexity and of supporting frontline practitioners with this. You will have experience of undertaking quality assurance activity and using performance data, audits and case reviews to identify practice priorities, and action plans. You will be familiar with working within a systemic and relationship based models of practice and have a solid knowledge of evidence informed approaches and examples of how you have driven forward improvement. You will be a good communicator, able to build relationships with practitioners, managers and leaders across the system. Most importantly, you will be excited about social practice and sharing learning from practice to improve the lives of children and young people.
